August 2022 Feature

BRP Inc. is shaking up the pontoon experience with the industry-disrupting model year 2023 Manitou lineup. Thanks to its groundbreaking Rotax Outboard Engine with Stealth Technology, Manitou is redefining the boating experience with continuous, seamless, holistic design from bow to stern, freeing up invaluable space for boaters and their families.

The revolutionary on board experience offered on the Manitou Cruise and Explore models will allow boaters to break away from the sea of sameness and embrace sleek, game changing interior as well as many other functional features. The result is a truly integrated boat package that every square inch of the boat is designed to deliver the perfect day on the water.

“Today, we rise above and introduce two new boat models that will shake the industry with forward thinking design. The new Manitou models are fully optimized and seamlessly integrated so the boat and engine deliver the perfect day on the water. Beyond the progressive and disruptive design cues that we believe will raise Manitou to icon status, we are revealing a boatload of innovations that make the onboard experience a game-changer in the industry,” stated Garrett Koschak, Global Product Manager, Manitou.

Timeless and Modern Design, Inside and Out
The new Manitou models stand out with a sleek and modern look enabled by an industry-first aluminum transformation process, traditionally only found in the luxury automotive industry, and that is exclusive to Manitou. It also features a redesigned bow featuring a distinctive new lighting signature for navigation and docking lights to provide even more character. Designed to create an elevated visual appearance, the forward-folding Standard and Sport Biminis offer up to 12 feet of coverage and are easy to use and to fold complements of two gas powered shocks requiring less than 5 pounds of pressure to open or close. Also, with the Sport Bimini version, customers can run their boat up to 50 MPH with the Bimini up! Finally, the materiality has been completely reviewed, with a much cleaner and harmonious design approach.

Rise Above: An Onboard Experience Like No Other
The next feature that revolutionizes the on board experience and simply doesn’t exist on any other pontoon, is the sleek new MAX Deck platform. Exclusively available when equipped with Rotax Outboard Engines, the MAX Deck unlocks 38 square feet of additional usable space meaning more comfort for boaters, and more possibilities for recreation at the stern. Since it also includes LinQ attachment points for accessories, from swimming and sunbathing to cooler storage and more, the MAX Deck changes the way boaters experience a day on the water. Boaters will also step onboard and enjoy the all-new switchback seating and Trifold Bench with 3-in-1 functionality and hidden table, offering unique options for integrated seating and dining. The helm area has been completely redesigned with ergo-specialists and design experts to convey functionality, simplicity, and modernity. Captains take control with a class leading helm and dash. A 7-inch Garmin digital dashboard comes standard on Cruise models making Manitou the only pontoon brand offering digital dashboards standard in this segment. The Explore has a 9-inch Garmin digital dashboard, the largest dash screen offered by anyone as a standard option in the recreation segment. Both models come with Fusion stereo systems with optional upgrades and a phone storage cubby with optional wireless phone charging, easily accessible by the captain.

The new Manitou models color schemes are refined and simplified, curated to create a look that will stand the test of time. The crisp color options are further complemented by high-end look and feel including woven vinyl flooring, 100 percent composite decking, and Simtex vinyl. The Manitou Cruise comes in 20, 22, and 24-foot lengths; while the Explore comes in 22, 24, and 26-foot lengths.

The Rotax Outboard Engine: Hidden, Quiet and Efficient
To unlock unparalleled boating experiences, BRP completely rethought, reimagined, and redesigned the engine for its boats. The new Rotax Outboard Engine with Stealth Technology is initially offered in 115 and 150 hp configurations. It delivers the same advantages of a traditional outboard engine — such as price, performance, handling, ease of maintenance, and full trim — with additional benefits: it’s hidden, it’s quiet and it’s efficient. Partially submerged underwater, hidden under the boat, the engine is smooth and quiet at any speed. It doesn’t block the way at the stern and therefore frees up valuable space while. The Rotax Outboard Engine is also efficient, allowing for up to 20 percent improved fuel efficiency compared to traditional outboard engines. What’s more, it is the cleanest combustion outboard engine in its class, with a 12 percent reduction in reportable emissions, and a 98 percent reduction in carbon monoxide at idle compared to leading outboard engine brands.

The new Manitou pontoons have been crafted for an optimal integration of the new Rotax Outboard Engine with Stealth Technology for an unrivalled experience that will wow boaters and their families. Competitively priced within its segment, these new models offer incredible value and will be irresistible to any consumer in the market for a boat.
