Video: Promoting The Sober Skipper

June 2023 Feature

Drinking and driving– a topic we all take very seriously, assigning designated drivers and taking Ubers without a second thought. But when it comes to the water, it’s a whole different story.

As we approach the July 4th weekend, which many people enjoy on the water, it’s important to discuss the leading cause of fatal boating accidents– alcohol. The Sea Tow Foundation wants to raise awareness about the importance of having a Sober Skipper, and practicing safe boating to help eliminate preventable boating accidents.

Men ages 26-55 are at the highest risk of death from alcohol-related boating accidents. Always designate a sober skipper and take the pledge at www.soberskipper.com.
