Safe Cleaning Products

I keep hearing bleach will "melt" stitching on vinyl seats, and avoid it.
I see videos on YouTube where they use products with beach?
I have small black spots on the top of my seats I can't get off.
I've tried CRL mold/mildew remover w/o success.
What products have you tried?

If you use 2 capfuls of bleach in a spray bottle with water and a very soft brush you'll be fine.

For 5 years now we have been using a product from West marine and made by StarBrite.

It is great for removing stains, conditioning vinyl and leaving a protection on the seats through the winter storage.

Oddly enough, West Marine carries the same chemical under their own name at $15.99

It is not on sale but I even think StarBrite private labels it for them.

I'll jump on that today.
There's a West Marine 20 miles north of Boston.

Some Walmarts carry the StarBrite product in their sporting goods section. Price approximately $8.

Also, I have been trying to remove dreaded black spots from the seats of my pontoon boat. I have used the 303 cleaner, vinegar + water, Clorox Clean Up, Simple Green, and probably a few others that I have forgotten about.

None of these products worked well - some better than others, but when I tried StarBrite Stain and Mildew remover, the results were the best yet! I also used a Magic Eraser with the StarBrite. This was done about a week ago and I won't see the boat again until mid-October. Hopefully, it will look the same.

I also did use 303 protectant after cleaning the seats with the StarBrite. I will try to remember to update everyone as to whether or not I have been successful.
