Winterizing yet for Climate Challenged Boaters

Hey PDB members / readers:

Is the boat winterized and covered up yet for the duration?

We pulled ours out the last weekend in September because the weather was great and I didn't want to be power spraying the underside of the pontoon in future 40 degree weather.

I'm working on the replacement of my seat pedestal for a taller one and will post pictures later when the job is done.

"Toons are cleaned, engine is serviced, on board items stored in garage with battery, bimini & frame removed and Two new Taylor Made covers lashed down for pending weather.

These new covers fit well and came from "Wholesale Marine Supply" mail order.

Our boat sleeps here. No winterizing needed.

Haven't been down yet to get to mine. Was hoping the weather would allow one more outing..

Boat out of water and in the inside storage at the marina. Guy coming tomorrow to service motor then it's all over until next year. Here's hoping for a better weather forecast for next year. We've had the best weather last bit but marina is firm on their dates so out it goes.

I'll be getting another day on the water Friday. (I am a big fan of global warming. There is no need to mitigate it)

I just trim the engine up, put Sta-bil in the tanks (& run the engines so I don't have carb jelly), drain the water tanks & let it sit in the slip until spring.

Since we boat in Maine and live in Ohio we had to pull our boat a few days after Labor Day. We took it to a local Yamaha dealer close to our place in Maine and had the engine winterized and they had it shrink wrapped and put it into outside storage. This outside storage is all new to me so I have my fingers crossed that all will go well.

As long as shrink wrap vented should be OK. We looked at doing this but inside storage at the marina costs about the same as outside plus shrink wrap so went with the inside.

So glad I can toon year round, may be cool!!! but it is a lot of fun to see the christmas lights from the water .
