    Default Just a quick note

I just got out of the hospital from double by-pass surgery. It was scary, I am back and will take some time to recover.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, Carl. I'm certain the thought of having surgery was scary as hell, but modern medicine today is so more advanced than it was just 10 years ago. It'll take a little time to recover, but you'll be OK. I have a friend who has 5 stents in him & he's doing just fine. Follow the Doctor's orders & you should be fine.

I'm wishing you a speedy recovery. Hopefully you'll be recovered enough to make next year's boating season. Be happy this didn't happen earlier: it's easier to be inactive during winter than in the summer.

Wow...I don't think any of us had any idea that you were going to have this done. Did it come on very sudden ? Any prior signs leading up to it ?
In any case, God Bless and a speedy recovery. My bother underwent stents but not a bypass. I'll bet the ribs are sore.
Keep in touch either through the forum postings or PM system and let us know how you are recovering.

Best wishes and I'm sure Suzi will keep you on the recovery path.

Believe me this wasn't planned. Had a little chest pain on the left side and my jaw was hurting far a couple of days. Suzi and I were watching tv and I said, I think I need to go to the hospital. She drove me up to her sons house (he's a paramedic) And he drove me to the hospital ER. The next day was a whole bunch of tests and they decided on stents. He started the first one but the blockage was too large and plugged it up. Last thing I remember was screaming from pain and then woke up next day. Puts a new perspective on life.

Wow, well I'm glad to hear they got it before you got any heart attack damage. Hang in there and try to do what they say. Watch your leg for infection, that was the only problem my older brother had following his a few years back. Thank God you had enough sense or fear or whatever to go when you did, its much easier to recover from just the bypass, rather than the bypass and heart attack damage. Hopefully you'll be good as new for Spring 2019.

Hey Carl, I just stumbled across this thread.
Sorry to hear this news. Hope you're feeling good.
I joined the "zipper club " about 8 years ago, so I know what you're going thru.
Amazing what they can do now.
I see some time has passed since your surgery, so I hope you're back to normal.
