This seems to work much better than the sky-hook tool I have for sale !!

Always tie a small line to your tools and a loop for your wrist.

Also a strong magnet - Very clever.

(Keep a bottle of Dawn Liquid Dish detergent handy when doing this, just in-case. I once observed a gasoline spill at a dock that Dawn squirted onto the water made a huge Immediate difference!).
