The material in the base swells and grabs the post. If you pull them out every trip it seems to take longer. Lube helps, but then you deal with the mess that goes with it. I ended up taking the bases out and taking them to work and opening the holes up by .060, or 1/16 inch. I have had them bind up so tight that the bases had to be pulled out and the post pushed out with a hydraulic press. I've not found an effective lube, or a base that doesn't do it.
