Default Our First Boat (We're city rowhouse kids!)

    Hey Everyone!

I hope all is well. I just joined the group and look forward to collaborating with all of you!

We (I mainly!) decided to dive into the boating world a couple of years ago. I was indecisive about the type of boat, but ultimately settled on a pontoon because if it's simplicity and entertaining capabilities.

I found a used 2006 Avalon at a broker that was pretty neglected, but had all of the features that I was looking for (except a bigger motor!). It's been a slow but satisfying experience restoring it and improving its performance. As you can see, it started out looking a bit rough, but we've replaced the carpet with vinyl, restored the seats with a vinyl paint product if you can believe that, and have made many repairs and upgrades.

So far, we couldn't be happier with our decision!

    Happy boating!

    Hey Greg:
Two things are great about your recent post.

1.) The seats and the work you are doing on the Avalon look great - keep improving.

2.) You are really getting into the spirit of what the PDB forum is all about. Keep posting and thanks for the pictures.

We love that you are jumping into the boating life style and the more you tell us about your interest, hopefully more
PDB members will find a reason to post during this cold winter off season.

    Enjoy

Welcome aboard and nice job on the resto. I have sent a private message with a link to a digital issue of the magazine and a copy of the 2021 buyers guide from PDB Magazine.
