Took the wife and my two boys out for a short trip on the Appomattox Saturday. It was windy to start and the river was a lttle high and muddy from the recent rains, but it was worth it to wait it out. Once the sun started to set the winds calmed and we managed to catch 10 cats up to about 8lbs and finished off the night with a 10lb striper. I was hoping to land a big citation cat (30lb+), but the bigguns just weren't where we were. Fun night though and my youngest had a ball reeling in fish and watching other boats and birds with my binoculars. We nicknamed him "The Commodore" because of how he looked with his life jacket on scanning the horizon for trouble through the binoculars. lol
