Organizers of the second annual Fall Jersey Shore Boat Sale & Expo reported an increase in attendance at this year's show, which was held Sept. 24-26 at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J.

They said 3,225 people attended, double the number who came out for last year's fall show, and a 16 percent increase from the show that was held in May at the same location.

The event was organized by the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey, a non-profit organization composed of more than 300 recreational marine businesses.

At this year's fall show, close to 150 new and used boats were on sale, offering a wide selection of models from 35 manufacturers. The show has grown in size; boats were on display in 58,000 square feet of the stadium lot and there was 3,800 square feet for the Boaters Marketplace. Vendors were located outside and inside the stadium.

"We are very excited that the show is growing in both attendance and dealer participation. The feedback that we have received so far has been fantastic.  Consumers loved the low cost to attend, and many of the exhibitors were pleased with their sales and leads from the show," said Melissa Danko, MTA/NJ executive director, in a statement.

A number of participating dealers have confirmed that they will be at future shows and they had many positive remarks from the show.

"The show was well done in every way. We were happy with the crowd and sold several boats," said Dean Mancini of Jarvis Marine.
