Take Me Fishing debuts new public-service campaign

February 2011 News

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation's Take Me Fishing campaign recently sent thousands of copies of its new public service announcement touting conservation to local TV and radio stations across the country.

"We know that our nation's waterways are treasures that need to be preserved," RBFF president and CEO Frank Peterson said in a statement. "That's why we've chosen to embark on a new campaign to promote our 'conservation through participation' message. Our goal is simple - get more people out on the water boating or fishing and, in turn, help raise much-needed funds to sustain local and national conservation efforts."

In addition to the items mentioned in the PSA, the RBFF wants people to know that all boating and fishing purchases play a role in conservation. From bait and tackle to boating supplies, a portion of each purchase goes back into a fund to help conserve and protect the water.

Stakeholders who want to download the PSAs can request the materials online. RBFF encourages stakeholders to help spread the message by using the TV, radio and print PSAs on their websites, in their newsletters and magazines or on their TV and radio shows.
