Champagne Metals, a global service center and processor headquartered in Glenpool, Okla., recently announced the opening of a new processing branch in the Elkhart, Ind., area. The new branch will be a three-phase process. The first phase will be the installation of a .125-inch by 72-inch Iowa Precision Slear 2 as well as a roll former to produce sheets with an Imperial Crimp in Topeka, Ind.

The second phase will be the relocation to the immediate Elkhart area from the Topeka location. The third phase will be the installation of a Herr-Voss .3125-inch by 84-inch cut-to-length line.

"We have been able to create some wonderful partnerships and relationships with customers in Indiana by servicing them from our facility in Glenpool," says president and CEO of Champagne Metals Mike Champagne. "We felt that we needed to take the next step to further show our commitment to the markets we serve by creating a processing branch in the area."

Champagne says it will be able to service the pleasure boat, recreational vehicle and the truck trailer markets from this new facility. For the pontoon industry, the ability to create the aluminum underskins will also be a huge advantage.

"We also see this as a strategic location to better serve our customers in the commercial transportation markets as well as our processing customers," adds Champagne. "The new facility will be a tremendous complement to our processing in Glenpool."
