Hands Off: Automatic TRAC Anchor Winch Series

February 2016 Product PDB Staff

TRAC Outdoor Products’ 2015 Anchor Winch series has Touch and Release AutoDeploy. With the mere touch of a button, TRAC AutoDeploy will quietly power down the anchor while you take care of other things onboard. Once the anchor touches bottom, the winch will switch to releasing rope a little at a time until there’s sufficient rope out. Then the winch will lock, securing your boat’s position. You can control the amount of rope let out by pushing “up” or “down,” or by pushing the AutoDeploy button again if changing conditions like wind and current make the anchor drag.

The wireless remote control includes a bracket that can be secured wherever you choose. The Deckboat 35 davit is integrated into the winch frame for breezy installation and requires the least amount of deck space of any in the industry at a mere 10-by-10 inches. Like all TRAC Anchor Winches, this new series includes all-steel gears, 100 feet of pre-wound double-braided anchor rope (700-pound tensile strength), an anchor safety cable, an auto-resetting circuit breaker, 17 feet of 14-gauge marine-grade battery wire, and all assembly hardware. Running quietly on 12 volts with low amp draw, the Angler 25 AutoDeploy sells for $215.95 while the Deckboat 35 AutoDeploy sells for $235.95. (615-641-2542/www.tracoutdoor.com)
