For over 20 years Pontoon & Deck Boat magazine has been bringing the industry together for our annual Shootout Test each fall. While of course the main objective is to test and review the latest models for our upcoming Special Shootout Boat Test issue that comes out each January, we’ve always tried to make our gathering feel more like an event.
In some cases, our annual test is like an industry reunion where friends come together to socialize and to enjoy being in the best segment of the boating industry that you could possibly be in.
Thanks to our engine sponsors—Honda Marine, Evinrude, Suzuki Marine and Yamaha Marine—we’ve expanded over the years to include an organized dinner for those in the industry and even that has evolved. To mix it up this year, we decided to host a golf tournament in the middle of our test week just prior to our dinner that took place at the South Shore Golf Club in Syracuse, Ind.
